Sight to the Blind!!!!

Well we have achieved in part a great milestone. The technology is there to give sight to the blind. the article is http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6368089.stm. They say that a bionic eye will soon be here. My initial thought was "that's great sight for the blind." Then of course I scroll down in my wanderings and excitement and come to find that it will be about $30,000 for the procedure..so much for sight for the blind more like sight for the rich who could see once but can afford the procedure. If one believes in Jesus or not, it says in the scriptures that he gave sight to the blind...my thought is this, why not give it to all...or are we so narcissistic that we need only think of ourselves, what better good is there. Giving sight to the blind. That's like "hey, you have aids, its cool, the procedure to remove aids is going to be 30,ooo dollars. Now where my analogy breaks short is the fact that aids is life threatening. I understand but when asked the question if you where to have 3 of you 5 senses, which would you pick...now what if you were given a choice to have one of them given back to you. What then.
